The “cento,” also known as a “collage poem,” is a poem that is composed of quotes taken from other sources. As shown here, I take the cento poem quite literally and make collage poems by cutting out words and phrases from magazines before I toss them. There is something beautiful and therapeutic about recycling language, patching together something new from the old, tearing something from its context and infusing it with new meaning and life.
